Located 21km / 13 miles southwest of Sandpoint, Morton Slough is fed by the backwaters of the Pend Oreille River and is rich in aquatic life and the wildlife and waterfowl that feed on it. Diving birds are attracted to this area, and it is an important stopping point on the migration route. Watch for Teals, Coots, Great Blue Herons, Bald Eagles, Osprey and much more.
