Big Meadow Lake is located 14.4km / 9 miles west of Ione, at the head of Meadow Creek. This 29 hectare / 72 acre lake and its surrounding area boast a variety of bird life and is an important nesting area. Species include Goldeneyes, Grebes, Warblers, Woodpeckers, Flycatchers and much more. Facilities on site include camping, restrooms, nature trails and a wildlife viewing platform.
